Course Information

This course is for people interested in gaining specialist skills in special effects make-up for Film, Television, Theatre, Fashion, and Photography.
This course is designed for the make-up artist who wants to extend their training and abilities into the most challenging and creative make-up applications - Special Effects Make-up Artistry.
The College has consulted industry professionals to create a course that equips all its graduates with the skills required to be a special effects artist in the 21st century. As well as curriculum development, industry professionals also advised on specific products and their applications. To ensure that the industry
professionals get their way they also teach the course!
We only accept ten students per enrolment. Enrolments occur once a year, in February.

Prerequisite: Certificate IV in Make-up or equivalent qualification
To be accepted for this course all applicants must undergo a make-up test. The required make-ups are natural to glamour, and a character make-up. Submission can be by regular post or email. |

| Course Structure |
Course Delivery: Face to face, demonstration and Practical. Theory lectures in administration, finance. Out of College location experience is available in student's own time. Distance learning is not feasible.
Teaching Methods: Teaching is done through demonstration, group lectures, and practical work.
Assessment Methods: Ongoing assessment based on training package assessment criteria. Final Assessment at course end prior to graduation - practical examination.

- Design and Make Eyeballs
- Extreme Casualty Simulation
- Design and Make Severed Body part
- Design, Make and apply Lace Facial Hair
- Body Casting and Mould Making
- Airbrushing for Body and Prosthetics
- Design and Sculpt and Cast Latex Pull on Mask

This course will provide you with a specialised make-up qualification that meets the following Nationally recognised criteria:
- Demonstrate understanding of a broad knowledge base incorporating theoretical concepts,
with substantial depth in some cases
- Analyse and plan approaches to technical problems or management requirements
- Transfer and apply theoretical concepts, technical or creative skills to a range of situations
